This might sound a little strange but I think some of my best advice for outdoor sessions is to immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of your surroundings by subtly blending in with the environment. Confused by what I mean? Imagine your photo shoot is at the beach: dressing in shades of beige and blues would look beautiful with the coastal backdrop, making your family the focal point while complementing the scenery. Similarly, for a photo shoot in lush greenery, embrace the verdant hues by wearing earthy greens and organic tones that merge seamlessly with nature. Comfort is Key: You need to feel Confident!
This has to be the most important piece of advice I can offer. While aesthetics play a vital role, I cannot stress enough the importance of feeling comfortable and confident in what you wear. When you're at ease, your smiles and genuine interactions will shine through, resulting in more organic photographs. So, choose clothing styles that align with your personal comfort and reflect YOUR family's unique personalities. Whether it's flowy dresses, head to toe denim, or coordinated yet relaxed outfits, prioritize your comfort!
Keep It Simple
I have never been a fan of large logos which can date very quickly. Opt for a pattern over a logo. If you want to introduce some pattern I would recommend a gorgeous floral dress on mum with the rest of the family dressed in a complimentary colour. This will work a treat.
